gelani

residence

February 2020

This independent residential building is set in Koramangala, Bangalore, with a beautiful park view to the north of the building.

The Gelani Residence features a main duplex on the 3rd and 4th floor and studio apartments in the ground, first and second floor designed for rental purposes.

The living room of the duplex opens into the beautiful park by means of an airy bay window bringing in the vistas. With pristine whites, wood tones and pops of colour, the design language intends to bring a warm and spacious feel to the spaces. Designed on a 30-40 plot, the spaces were maximised with open planning, double heights and carefully curated nooks. The living room has an attached balcony space which is framed with French windows to enhance the light quality while adding pattern play.

The third floor houses a guest bedroom along with the common areas. The guest bedroom has fabric inlay wardrobes in shades of blue framing a bay window in shades of teak.

The fourth floor has the master suite and the daughter’s bedroom. The master suite sports herringbone flooring along with shades of grey and blue which lends a subdued elegance to the space. This room opens into a terrace garden onto the north, which overlooks the park.

The daughter’s bedroom has subtle tones of lilac and mustard with a white dreamy bed and wooden tiled flooring to follow a common design language. The compact study and bay window adds functionality to this space.
